God is working in Africa!

Mpunga Mukengeshay (Rev. Shay) is a Campus Crusade for Christ staff member in Francophone Africa, who is part of our FLAG Global team.  Recently he went to Kinshasa, the capital of the Congo (DRC) to meet with our FLAG team there.  This group is all lawyers, judges, and magistrates.

He met with Mrs. Françoise Kena, the FLAG national coordinator; Roger Wedy Kasongo, National Executive Secretary; and Emmanuel Kawaya, Deputy National Coordinator. They gave him an update on the general situation of FLAG and the program activities for this year.  The national committee includes three lawyers and five magistrates.  Kinshasa and Lubumbashi have city coordinators.

Rev. Shay gave them some guidance on the vision of FLAG and thanked Mrs. Kena for her efforts to ensure the smooth running of FLAG in the DRC by providing financial support for almost all the activities of FLAG.  She led a strong delegation of 38 people to the FLAG 2016 convocation in South Africa.

Judge Jonathan Kiboba reports that they have a FLAG/Africa prayer team in Lubumbashi (DRC) that meets twice a month.   The group includes judges (of Court of Appeal and of public prosecutor’s office), lawyers, pastors, and evangelists. They are praying notably for justice in Africa.  How encouraging to see such a broad effort across the community.

Please pray for the following national and regional conferences:

August 9-11, 2017           Cameroon

December 14-18, 2017   Kenya

February 22-24, 2018      Francophone Regional Conference, Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast)

Thank you for partnering with us to shine the light of Christ in judicial systems throughout the world.
